Imaginary Friends Society
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation needed help establishing a brand identity and revamping their online presence. After falling in love with the client and the work they do helping children recently diagnosed with brain tumors, we saw an opportunity to put them on the map in a much bigger way.

Our goal was to to help kids better understand cancer care by translating complicated medical-speak in a kid-friendly way. We met some brave, young cancer survivors and found out many of them had imaginary friends they used as a coping mechanism during long stays at hospitals. So we had those kids draw their imaginary friends, and brought them to life in an integrated campaign called the Imaginary Friend Society. We created 22 animated short films where imaginary friends break down every scary and confusing aspect of the cancer treatment process, from explaining what an MRI and chemotherapy is to what to expect during a blood transfusion.  In addition to short films, we made coloring books, stuffed animals, and journals to keep kids entertained during hospital visits, and brought the characters to life with an in-hospital AR experience.

We collaborated with a different production partner for each film - the Mill, Lobo, Psyop to name a few - who all worked on the project for free.

Here is a film that explains the entire project. Below that are a few of the individual films. You can check out the entire campaign here
