Black Trans Lives Matter

In 2019, the American Medical Association classified violence against the transgender community in the U.S. as an epidemic. At the time of this campaign’s release, 2020 was on pace to be the deadliest year on record for the transgender community, especially for Black trans women. Google Search data showed Americans were searching for ways to support transgender communities like never before, especially Black trans women and gender nonconforming folks who face increasing levels of violence and discrimination. For Transgender Awareness Week, we partnered with Trans activists and luminaries like Raquel Willis to center trans and non-binary voices and celebrate Black trans power and joy.
