Ballroom In Focus
Ballroom is a safe haven for Black and Brown Queer and Trans community and self-expression that has revolutionized culture worldwide. Yet for decades, Ballroom’s history and impact went untold or was often appropriated by the mainstream, without recognition. So Google partnered with the Ballroom community and Destination Tomorrow to build the largest digital archive of Ballroom history. A first-of-its-kind online museum featuring over 2,500 never-before-seen images, interviews and artifacts. The project convened living legends to unpack Ballroom's rich history. From this, we crafted social content for younger generations raised on RuPaul's Drag Race, exploring everything from the most famous houses to the origins of Ballroom lingo.

Most importantly, a recorded history from Ballroom legends that didn't exist before is now digitally archived and accessible to all, forever.
